“From Iris van Herpen’s most recent Spring 2012 couture collection, Micro, these images show work that was inspired by scientific SEM photographs of bacilli, vermin, mites, lice and termites. Commenting on the work Van Haerpen noted that she wanted to show their beauty because in her eyes they were the most bizarre, unbelievable and most imaginative creatures imaginable. The bulbous dresses were fashioned from clusters of amphibious-looking plexiglass, 3D modeled on the computer before sewed onto the garments.”

1920’s Hairstyles
A collection of 1920’s photographs, depicting some of the hairstyles of the time, like the kiss curl, the orchid bob, the charleston cut, coconut bob, earphones hairstyle, cottage loaf (bun) and popular styles you’ll probably never see in a period drama like extreme windblown style, the frizzy hairstyle and the Poodle cut.

I wish quite a few of these would come back, not just with hipster type girls who think they are unique because they are into burlesque cabaret fashion or in a band that does that sort of thing.

Gosh, I love these. If I knew how to style my own hair I would attempt some of these for myself.
